Hand held FTIR to test bird's nest purity!

Yesterday at the ETP forum, found this company that promote handheld FTIR. Claim can test purity of bird's nest on the spot! However, the sample that they compare with is questoinable. The machine read 'house nest' as not PURE, contaminated with calsium carbonate and salt! But 'cave nest cake'...come out clean! When press further, they are not sure if the 'house nest' sample is really contaminated. After long exchange of logic, finally they admit their databases is not complete and the reading is not 'final'......WHAT A MISLEADING!

That company starts with "A" and seems like unprofessional and try to mislead the industry player? What a shame~
